Cure Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction ( Impotence ) is defined medically as “an inability to achieve or to sustain an erection of sufficient quality or duration to satisfy the needs of either party engaged in sexual activity”. All men at some stage or other of their lives will experience an isolated episode or two of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). But in order to fulfil the medical definition the problem has to be chronic and sustained.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES.

The causes of erectile dysfunction in men are many and varied. But in order of their frequently of occurrence they are :

  • Age related. Reduced blood supply to penis caused by hardening of the arteries and/or natural fall in testosterone levels.

  • Performance anxiety. This is a common problem where one failure leads to another and before you know it you are up with the audience watching yourself trying to perform.

  • Medicine or drugs. Alcohol can lead to “brewers droop”. Most illicit drugs reduce erectile quality. The anti-psychotic depo injections destroy erections. Other medications can also have this effect.

  • Any chronic illness like MS or rheumatoid arthritis. Diabetes type one or two because it reduces blood supply to the penis and interferes with nerve sensitivity. This type of Erectile Dysfunction often does not respond to treatments like Viagra and may need penis injection.

WHAT ARE THE TREATMENTS.

  • Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are all related medications that have revolutionised the management of Erectile Dysfunction in recent years.

  • Caverject penile injection is extremely effective in situations where the above have failed - diabetes, acute performance anxiety, spinal injury, anti-psychotic medication.

  • Testosterone Replacement Therapy ( TRT ). This treatment on its own will improve the quality and frequency of erections. Where medicines like Viagra 100 mg do not work consistently then the addition of testosterone therapy will very often make the difference.

  • Psychosexual Counselling. This mode of Impotence treatment either on its own or in conjunction with other treatments is always worth considering. It can be particularly effective in the management of premature ejaculation and in situations where anxiety is getting in the way of enjoyment. You should always ensure that the therapist you have chosen specialises in this field of counselling and is not just dabbling in it.
